Well this might be simple but to some people its a problem..
1.Download Paint.net: http://www.getpaint.net/ Download button is at top right corner.
2.OK after it is finished downloading make an icon on any paint(or that if you good you only do 1-2)
3.Copy file from the original paint
4.Paste it on paint.NET
5.OK select the file and try to crop it(Notice i forgot where it was so search it)
6.Then last of all save the file as gif. or the file you need.
7.and now you hav a icon without any loss of colors:P!

Well i am currently working on art so i try to finish fast as i can it will be my first game so it might sck...:[
